Di White

Diane has been an active member of the cycling community from the age of 12 when she completed her first Cape Argus Cycle Tour with her Dad, winning her age group. Since then her passion for the sport, and endurance related activities has grown.

Being active in a diverse range of sport at school it made sense for her to continue her studies in sports science once completing matric. She graduated from The University of the Witwatersrand in 2001 with a Bachelor of Physical Education, following this up with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management in 2002 at WITS Business School. During her studies she completed numerous coaching qualifications as well as obtaining a certification for Holistic Sports Massage. While studying, her knowledge was put to good practical use working at Cycle Lab doing fitness evaluations and training. After graduating she then moved into the corporate world for four years, working for the pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis where she had extensive training & work experience in the Cardiovascular and Metabolic disease areas.

Her cycling experience spans many years, with a number of achievements she considers special. These include: Cape Argus Age Group wins; Silver medal in Junior SA Champs; and runner-up and winner of the South African University Champs. She enjoys both road and MTB disciplines and prefers the more social side of the sport now.

Married to ex - professional cyclist Nic White, she has gained much insight into the dynamics of team racing and training and what it takes to be at the pinnacle of your sport. After the birth of their first child in 2006, she decided to give up the corporate scene to follow her passion. Having first-hand experience of the rewards one can reap from structured, scientific and supportive training it was only logical for her to make the transition to coaching.

She joined Activeworx in 2007 as a coach assisting Dr Carol Austin, gaining firsthand insight and experience working with the Microsoft and MTN cycling teams, later developing more of an interest in individual client coaching.

In 2014 she decided to create WHITE INC. along with her husband, and continues to assist clients achieve their goals & aspirations, while still promoting the fun and enjoyment of cycling.
